Chateau Montebello, Quebec

The Chateau Montebello is the largest log structure in the world, our next destination.  It was built in 1930.  Presently it is a Fairmount Hotel with an adjacent marina which is in a protected basin.  We elected to spend two nights here to check out the local town and the amenities of the hotel.  Since we traveled 55 miles and passed through two locks we arrived mid afternoon, plus the weather had been unstable so rain was correctly predicted.
In town Debbie and Pam found a chocolatier.  Very tasty.
The hotel structure is too large to capture in a picture so check the website.

Beautiful inside as well.  Reminds me of the Yellowstone Lodge.
Another view.
