Day 16 Beaufort to Charleston, SC

When we were sure the Tropical Storm was heading out to sea we departed Beaufort for Charleston.  We pulled away from the dock at 0730 and arrived in Charleston at 2:30PM.  Beautiful day in the 80s, wind NE 10.  Miles traveled 66, total to date from Sarasota 750.  The wives were arriving tomorrow so we cleaned the boat to make sure it was presentable.   We caught up laundry as well.  We stayed at the Harbourage at Ashley Marina on the Ashley River next to Charleston.   

We passed the City Marina where we have stayed several times before.  The docks are over a 1/2 mile long so we elected to visit a nearby smaller marina.

My former law office mate, Jim Thompson waited in Charleston for our

arrival.  We had dinner at a French Restaurant

La Forchette with him and his friend Michelle. They 

departed in the morning.
