Boca Grande Marina, FL to South Seas Island Resort, Captiva, FL

"Island Hopper"departed Boca Grande Marina around 11:30 AM heading to Captiva Island, FL. The seas were chopping with 15 to 20 knot winds. Captiva Island connected to the northern end of Sanibel by a bridge, is quirky and engaging. At the end of a twisty road lined with million-dollar-mansions lies a delightful village of shops and eateries. South Seas Resort, which takes up 1/3 of the island, closed in 2004 due to extensive damage from hurricane Charlie, and partially reopened in 2006. Susan and Dan Earley from Cincinnati, and owners of a second home on Sanibel Island joined us for drinks on the boat before going to Old Captiva House for dinner.
